Meet Anita Belle and Jake. Anita is a Maltese pup and Jake is a yorkie. They were both born with Liver Shunt and need life saving surgery. Both these kids were surrendered because the owners could not afford their surgery expense. If you can just send a little money, 5 or 10 dollars or even 1 dollar we can get enough money to pay for surgery to not only save their lives but allow them to run and play like other puppies. Both pups are currently being kept and stabilized by Dr. Pickle in Friendswood, Texas. She would do the surgery if she could but it takes a specialist to do it. She, however, has donated her care to date for both pups. Without her they would not be alive today. UPDATE: (07.08.2010)w Pictures of Anita and Jake's Journey, they are back and doing well recovering with Dr. Pickle in Houston. We still need donations as we haven't paid their bill off and we now have Harley in distress and needing to go too. Click here to see the updates and pictures....UPDATE UPDATE:(07.07.2010) just in from Susan (Dr. Pickle): Hi Marsha They had surgery yesterday and did well. Anita had a really large shunt and Jakie's was almost the same just smaller - he said he used a 5 mm (I think that is the measuring unit) in Anita and a 3.5 mm in Jakie. They were both pretty pitiful for the next 18 hours - and had to stay on IV fluids - this morning they checked out great and they let me bring them home. We got them back about 4pm today - they have really big incisions. Ashlee and Vikki brought them home - I flew back last night. Harley is having some problems - may have to take him to surgery sooner than we thought. I sure would like him a little bigger first. I can send pictures tomorrow. Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers- such a relief to have this behind us - at least for these two! Susan 4255 Sullivan Street. Beaumont, Tx 77705
